But reality is a bit different \u2013 from setting ticket prices and picking the right date to marketing and logistics, challenges lurk at every turn.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>One of the biggest misconceptions among first-time organizers is that <strong>making money in the event industry is easy<\/strong>. The truth is, every successful event requires <strong>careful planning, investment, and a lot of effort<\/strong>. Not to scare you, but without proper preparation, your event could quickly turn into a financial disaster.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Don\u2019t worry \u2013 with the right approach, your event can be a great success! At least until you\u2019ve built a strong brand. Don\u2019t be afraid to invest in promotion. Great visuals are key\u2014something that grabs attention instantly and sparks curiosity. A well-crafted event description is also a must.<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>And when it comes to the financial expectations of first-time organizers?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\"><p><em>Don\u2019t expect too much from your first event. The first event is about building your name and reputation, and if you break even, that should be considered a success. Breaking even is a good thing. Keep working, keep putting in the effort, and bring in interesting artists\u2014even if they are smaller, up-and-coming bands. We encourage them to consult with their tax advisors to ensure they are well-prepared for all aspects of event organization and to apply the appropriate tax rate correctly.<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>Just like every previous step, don\u2019t turn a blind eye to this one\u2014it could come back to haunt you. Before putting tickets on sale, gather all the necessary information and make sure you understand it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2>Step Six: Marketing Should Not Be an Afterthought<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>When it comes to <strong>marketing<\/strong>, <strong>Zrinka Bockovac,<\/strong> our marketing manager, had some strong opinions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\"><p><em>No matter how small an organizer feels, they must have a basic business plan, because every marketing activity should be drawn from financial and strategic planning. You need a vision, a cost breakdown, and an idea of your expected revenue.<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>And how much should be allocated to marketing?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\"><p><em>There are some general rules\u2014at least 10% of revenue should go to marketing, ideally 15% or more.
